♮ReaScribe (♮リアスクライブ) is a Japanese female idol group formed in 2020. The group originally debuted under the name ♮BEQUA STELLA (♮ベクアステラ) on September 5, 2020, before rebranding as ♮ReaScribe in April 2022.

The name "ReaScribe" is a portmanteau of "Reality" and "Scribe," reflecting the group's concept of creating stories that connect "people to people and heart to heart."[1]

History[]

Formation and Early Activities (2020)[]

The group was originally formed under the name ♮BEQUA STELLA, with four founding members—Hayase Sakura, Amano Saya, Igarashi Mai, and Kanami—announced on August 8, 2020, via Twitter.[2]

The name ♮BEQUA STELLA combines Bequadro, the Italian term for the natural symbol in musical notation (♮), and Stella, meaning “star.” The concept behind the name reflects a desire to bring listeners’ emotions back to a "natural state," comparable to the moment one sees the first star in the sky.[3]

The group held its debut live performance, The First Star, on September 5, 2020, at TSUTAYA O-Crest.[4] Although admission was free, the 50 available tickets were claimed within ten minutes.[5] In response to high demand, a two-part follow-up event, The First Star EXTRA, was held the following weekend at Shibuya TAKE OFF 7.[6]

On October 17, 2020, Tsumugi Miho joined the group. She made her live debut at a new member unveiling event titled Vega on November 15 at TSUTAYA O-Crest, expanding the group to five members.[7]

First Releases and Member Changes (2021)[]

On January 23, 2021, ♮BEQUA STELLA released its first digital mini-album, BEQUADRO, which compiled the five songs performed during their 2020 activities. The group debuted four new songs throughout the year, including "Zettai Zettai," "Bokura no Melody," "Fantasy Summer Quest," and "Souten no Stera."

On February 18, it was announced via Twitter that Kanami would be temporarily suspending her activities due to health concerns. As a result, she missed the group’s first solo concert, 1st ONEMAN LIVE『BEQUADRO』, held on March 7 at SPACE ODD. She officially withdrew from the group on July 6.[8]

In early July, the group revealed new costumes and promotional photos, marking their first visual update since debut.

Between August 13 and 14, the remaining four members held a 24-hour live stream on SHOWROOM to promote their upcoming first anniversary concert.[9] Initially scheduled for September 5 at Shinjuku KeyStudio, the event was postponed and ultimately held on December 28.

On November 29, Tsumugi Miho announced her graduation. Her final performance took place during the rescheduled anniversary concert, 1st ANNIVERSARY LIVE『STELLA』, on December 28.[10]

Reformation and Rebranding (2022)[]

On January 5, 2022, the group announced via Twitter that Igarashi Mai would be withdrawing from ♮BEQUA STELLA due to a violation of group rules. Her departure left the group with only two active members, prompting a suspension of live performance activities while the group entered a period of restructuring.[11]

An open audition for new members was announced on January 31, along with plans to rename the group to ♮Storia.[12] However, the new name was later withdrawn following concerns from fans about its similarity to another group’s name.[13]

On April 1, 2022, the group officially rebranded as ♮ReaScribe. Five new members—Yumesaki Amu, Suzukaze Tsubasa, Hinata Miyu, Himemiya Runa, and Aime Baku—were introduced, joining returning members Amano Saya and Hayase Sakura. The newly formed seven-member lineup held their re-debut live performance, Prologue, on May 15 at Spotify O-Crest.[14]

New Releases and a New Agency (2023)[]

On January 14, 2023, ♮ReaScribe released their first digital album, Prelude. Their first solo concert as ♮ReaScribe, titled 1st ONEMAN LIVE -Narrative-, was held on February 4 at Shinjuku KeyStudio.

In March, the group revealed new artist photos and costumes, representing their first major visual update since rebranding.

On May 1, founding member Hayase Sakura announced her graduation via the group’s Twitter account. Her final appearance took place during ♮ReaScribe’s 1st Anniversary Live on May 13 at Shibuya GRIT.[15] Her graduation marked the first member change since the group's rebranding, reducing the lineup to six.

On July 20, Aime Baku also announced her graduation.[16] Her final performance occurred on August 19 at the group's 2nd ONEMAN LIVE -Realize-, held at Yokohama Bronth.

Following the concert, the group announced their departure from long-time agency accelgrow.[17] During a performance on September 10, it was revealed that the group would continue their activities under a newly established agency, ARIA THREAD.[18]

Under the new agency, the group released their second digital album, LIFE STREAM, on November 2. New costumes and artist photos were released on December 10.

Member Departures and Hiatus (2024)[]

On January 24, 2024, it was announced that Suzukaze Tsubasa would be taking a break from group activities due to health concerns. She officially withdrew from the group on February 6.[19]

On March 31, ♮ReaScribe released two digital singles: "Mousou Spiral" and "365 Nichi no Symphony." The songs were initially intended for inclusion in a compilation album with other idol groups, but the project was postponed by the distributor.[20]

On March 7, founding member Amano Saya announced her graduation, coinciding with the expiration of her contract after three and a half years with the group.[21] Her graduation concert was held on April 7. With her departure, no members from the original ♮BEQUA STELLA lineup remained.

On May 17, the group released two additional digital singles, "Sakurairo Crossroad" and "Ano Hi Mita Yume," both choreographed by former AKB48 member Ichikawa Manami.

On June 25, Hinata Miyu announced her upcoming graduation, with her final performance scheduled for August 18.[22]

On July 26, an open audition was announced to recruit new members.[23]

After Miyu’s graduation, the group continued as a duo with remaining members Amu and Runa. However, on August 25, it was announced that live performances would be suspended following the completion of scheduled shows through September 29, as the group entered another preparation period.[24]

On December 3, it was announced that Himemiya Runa would not be continuing with the group, leaving Yumesaki Amu as the sole remaining member from the original ♮ReaScribe lineup.[25]

New Lineup and Current Activities (2025)[]

On January 1, 2025, a new four-member lineup was revealed on the group’s X (formerly Twitter) account. Three new members—Kurumi Anzu, Ototsuki Ema, and Mito Alice—joined remaining member Yumesaki Amu. [26] The group held their official re-debut performance, titled Kaleido, on March 1 at Shinjuku NINE SPICES.[27]

On May 17, they released their fifth digital single, Kaleido no Hana, the first to feature the new lineup.

On June 17, an open audition was announced to recruit additional members.[28]

On September 21, the group announced Ototsuki Ema would be departing citing differences with the group's direction.[29]
