androp is a 4-person male rock band. They were formed in 2008 under the lead vocalist, Uchisawa Takahito, and had their indie debut in 2009.
The band's name is formed from the two English words, "and" and "drop". Uchisawa has stated in interviews that the "and" comes from the wish that their music go along side-by-side with the listener's daily life. "Drop" comes from the idea that teardrops can be shed when people are happy, sad, or angry - anytime where emotions are present. The word "androp" was created to be able to give meaning to a word that originally had none.
