angela is a music duo specializing in anime theme songs.

The members were both musicians in their native Okayama, and were acquaintances at the time. They both moved to Tokyo to pursue music careers. In 1993, KATSU invited atsuko to form a band together, then named ANGELA, which was originally a larger group but dwindled down to the two of them. They attempted and failed to recruit more members, then continued as a duo.

ANGELA made their major debut in 1999 with memories under Warner Music.

In May 2000, they once again became independent. They changed their name to the current lowercase stylization and spent the next three years doing frequent street performances in Tokyo. In 2002, they were scouted by King Records at a street performance. They made their re-debut the next year with Asu e no brilliant road.
