Atari Kousuke (中孝介) is a male singer from Kagoshima. He is affiliated with Office Walker and Yoshimoto Music.
He started learning Shima Uta by himself after being impressed by the performance of a girl of his age singing Shima Uta (island-song) style of his hometown, when he was in high school.
In 2000, he won the Newcomer Award at the Amami Folk Song Awards. In the same year, he won the overall victory at the Amami Union Tournament of the Japan Folk Song Association.
On March 1, 2006, he released his debut single "Sorezoreni" from Epic Records Japan.
