BARRIER (バリア) is a song by SixTONES. Released by Sony Music on March 19, 2025 as their 14th single.
The title track is a mixture of rock, expressing the determination to protect the one you love with a powerful melody, rap, and a fast-paced, danceable band sound. This song was also chosen as the theme song for the movie "Ojou to Ban-ken-kun," in which members Jesse and Riko Fukumoto star.
This single was released in three formats: limited edition, MTV Unplugged edition, and regular edition. The limited edition includes the coupling song "ABRACADABRA," and the DVD includes the music video, a making-of video, and two types of dance performance videos for title track.
The MTV Unplugged edition includes the acoustic live show "MTV Unplugged: SixTONES," which was hosted by MTV and featured in December last year. The album includes live recordings of all the songs performed at the concert, including "KOKKARA," "Strawberry Breakfast," and "Telephone," as well as covers of The Chainsmokers' "Closer" and Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself." The DVD includes performances of unreleased songs that were cut from the broadcast, as well as live footage including MCs.
The regular edition will include new songs "Snooze" and "Houkai zenya" as coupling tracks, as well as remix versions of the previous songs "GONG" and "koko ni kaette kite". The remix of "GONG" was done by Arai Kazuki, bassist for rock band King Gnu.
