Otomonai Mina (乙茂内美奈), better known as CHANMINA (ちゃんみな/챤미나), is a Japanese-Korean Hip-Hop artist.

Profile[]

  • She is Korean-Japanese. Her father is Japanese, and her mother is Korean.
  • She is multilingual, being fluent in Japanese, Korean, and English.
  • She was born in South Korea and lived there until she was 3 years old. Her mother was a ballerina, so they moved a lot.
  • She started playing the piano, ballet, dancing and singing at an early age.
  • She spent her childhood moving back and forth between Korea, Japan, and the United States.
  • She not only writes lyrics, but has also produced all of her own tracks and choreographs her dances.
  • In April 2019, she became the first domestic female solo artist to sign a sponsorship agreement with "Monster Energy" and in May of the same year, she became the first Japanese artist to appear in the Asian version of Yo! MTV Raps produced by MTV Asia.
  • One of the biggest musical influences in her life is the K-Pop group BIGBANG. After she discovered their song "Haru Haru", she quit piano and ballet and began to take Hip-Hop dance lessons, which led her to devote herself to Hip-Hop.
  • On July 7, 2024, she announced her marriage to South Korean rapper ASH ISLAND and that she was currently pregnant with her first child.[1][2][3]
