CHECKICCO (チェキッ娘) was an idol group created by the variety TV show DAIBAtteki, and were produced by Mizuguchi Masahiro & Akimoto Yasushi. They were active from October 9, 1998 until November 3, 1999. They are sometimes called the AKB48 or Idoling!!! of the 90's.

About[]

The group was originally supposed to the "Onyanko Club of the Heisei era." Like Onyanko Club, the group would also have their own variety program and members were assigned their own number.

However, they disbanded a year later due to a lack of CD sales, and competition from more popular idol groups such as Morning Musume.
