CINDY (シンディ) was a Japanese singer-songwriter, composer and music journalist.
Her real name was Yamamoto Mayumi (山本真裕美).
She died of cancer in December 2001, in Los Angeles, United States. Nakayama Miho announced Yamamoto's death to her fan club.

- Her father was a Korean lyricist who moved from Korea to Japan a few years before she was born.
- She was fluent in English, as she studied at an American school in Japan and lived for a long time in the United States before her debut as a singer.
- In addition to being a singer, she was a music journalist in the USA, and she interviewed big names in the American music industry, such as legendary American singers Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder.
- She was close friends with legendary Japanese-American rock singer Ann Lewis, considered one of the pioneers of Kayōkyoku rock music.
