A list of all releases that have been certified by the RIAJ for selling more than 500,000 copies.

Until June 2003, a double platinum certification was given to releases that sold over 800,000 copies. Therefore releases from prior to the system's restructure that would've been certified Double Platinum under the new system may be absent.
