ChouCho is a Japanese singer under Lantis. She started her singing career in 2007 as a vocalist for the anime song band "Lotus★Lotus". On June 20, 2008, she posted her first cover video on "Nico Nico Douga" under her name written in hiragana "ちょうちょ". She made her major debut on July 27, 2011, with the single "Kawaru Mirai". When she released her single "Yasashisa no Riyuu" on May 2, 2012, her name was changed to "ChouCho".
Biography[]
Under the influence of her father, who formed a band as a hobby, ChouCho naturally grows up in an environment surrounded by music. She learned the electone from 4 to 14 years old, and she herself put in the rhythm to make original songs and participated in a competition. Her most musical influence was the music that her father played at home, especially "The Beatles", which she often heard her father sing. Later, she listened to all of the Beatles' works and began to like them. Her favorite works are "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver". During her high school days, she was impressed by Alanis Morissette's live performance on MTV Unplugged. She also said she likes Björk.
Her name "ChouCho" came from her hobby of collecting butterfly goods when she was in college, and it was referred to as a nickname by her bandmates at the time.
