Denda Mao (傳田真央) is an R&B singer. Her father is clarinet player Denda Takahiro, and her mother is a pianist. She made her indie debut in 1999 and major debut in 2000.
In 2002 she split with her label and agency, spending the next four years unsigned and mainly performing in clubs with a band.
In 2006 she re-debuted under the name MAO/d. She returned to using her real name in 2009.
