HEART / FATE (ハート / FATE) is the 22nd single by WEST.. Released by ELOV-Label on April 24, 2024 as a commemorative single for WEST., who will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their CD debut on April 23rd. Because the group name was changed from Johnny's WEST to WEST. on October 18, 2023, so this was the first single released under the name "WEST.".

"FATE" is the theme song for WOWOW's drama series W-30, "Hakubo no Chronicle" starring Kamiyama Tomohiro. The song, which begins with a grand intro and evokes a dark atmosphere reminiscent of the drama's worldview, sings of the importance of carving out one's own destiny and being true to oneself. It's a dance number that embodies WEST.'s determination to continue challenging themselves in their 11th year. A trailer for the drama, featuring the song, was released on February 8th, and WEST. appeared as secret guests in the second part of the drama's premiere screening on February 19th, where they performed the song for the first time. The music video, which depicts the conflict between the self that has bottled up its heart and the self that tries to free itself, premiered on March 20th at 9:30 PM. Director Ikeda Kazuma commented on the conflict, saying, "I thought that when viewed from a bird's eye view, it might look like a comedy. It's an aggressive project that could only have been realized thanks to their expressiveness."

"HEART" is the opening theme for the third season of the TV Tokyo anime series "Captain Tsubasa Season 2: Junior Youth Arc," which began airing on April 7th. The song begins with the lyrics, "There's no dream I want to give up on," and is a boosting message to all who face their own sometimes-discouraged selves, while believing in possibilities and working hard to live each new day. The song was produced by Ryota Yanagisawa of SUPER BEAVER, marking their fourth collaboration with WEST., following "Haru Janakutemo", "Bokura no Riyuu", and "TSUBASA". The music video, directed by Shota Yamagishi, graphically depicts how "WEST.'s music lights a fire in the heart and strikes the heart." It premiered on YouTube at 9:30 PM on March 16th, and the band members themselves participated in the chat during the premiere. A live YouTube broadcast commemorating the single's release was also held at around 9:10 PM on the same day prior to the release. On April 24th, the band appeared on the 429th episode of the YouTube channel "THE FIRST TAKE" to perform the song. On May 17th, the group's official TikTok account released a video of the "WEST. HEART Challenge," in which the members use their hands and bodies to make various hearts to the tune of this song, and many fans left comments excited about the close friendship between the members.
