- The "Hitsuji" (sheep) in the band's name was inspired by the band "Sleeping Rag Sheep", the "bungaku" (literature) was added to emphasize the lyrical content.
- The band was formed as a five member band; however the two members that left in 2012 are unknown.
- The band originally started as a cover group of Chatmonchy, Tokyo Jihen and 9mm Parabellum Bullet.
