Houpri Youth (放プリユース) was the trainee unit for Houkago Princess, and debuted on February 18, 2015. On November 1, 2023, it was announced that they would end the trainee system as of November 2023.[1]
The members began as Apprentices and could be promoted to Candidates, before becoming Regular members of Houkago Princess.
Youth members sometimes performed at their own live shows or as an opening act for Houkago Princess, and Candidate (or Cadet) members often acted as backing dancers and chorus for some songs, and also had a chance to appear in singles in simplified uniforms. Members could also be used as replacements for Regular members who were absent from performances.
Created before Houkago Princesses major debut, the Youth program had some minor differences to the original Apprentice and Candidate program that the group initially had. Initially, all Apprentice and Candidate members were included in single releases and wore simplified variants of the group's costumes, and acted as backing dancers and chorus. As of early 2015, Youth members were not always included in single releases, and Candidate members were used for backing dancers and chorus in some song performances.
