INTERSECTION is a four-member multicultural boy group based in Tokyo, Japan. They are signed to the label The Whole Earth Connection from Avex and made their major debut on October 5, 2018, with the single "Heart of Gold".

The group consists of four boys who are all bilingual in English and Japanese, with all of them having Japanese ancestry but were born outside of the country.

History

2017

  • On October 6, the group was released "Starting Over" as a limited-edition single. The song was elected to Spotify's "Early Noise 2018" (an artist Spotify expects to make a leap forward).[1]

2018

  • On August 23, the group made an appearance in fight!2018 "Avex Management Academy presents Happy Summer Music Day" held at Symbol Promenade Park Central Square.[2]
  • On September 1, the group appeared as the opening act of "Mynavi presents 27th Tokyo Girls Collection 2018 AUTUMN/WINTER" held at Saitama Super Arena.[3]
  • On October 5, the first single "Heart of Gold" was released on digital platforms.[4]
  • On October 7, the group made an appearance in the 30th anniversary event of J-WAVE, "TOKYO SOUND EXPERIENCE", held at Roppongi Hills Arena.[5]
  • On November 9, the second single "Falling" was released on digital platforms.[6]
  • In November, at the art exhibition "ARIGATO SAKURAGAOKA Produced by ART PHOTO TOKYO" held in Sakuragaoka Town, Shibuya Ward, a work taken by photographer Leslie Kee of the group wearing the costumes of the Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2019 collection was released.[7]
  • In November, the pre-release song "Twisted" was decided as the MTV Japan's "Hot Seat" in November.[8]
  • In November, the song "Falling" was decided as the November M-ON's "M-ON! Recommend".[9]
  • On November 30, the group appeared as a show guest for Dior's 2019 Pre-Fall Collection at the Telecom Center in Tokyo.[10]
  • On December 7, the third single "Body Language" was released on digital platforms.[11]
  • On December 14, Kazuma released his first solo single "Red Lights (feat. Carlo Redl)" under the name of Kaz - INTERSECTION.[12]
  • On December 21, Mika released his first solo single "Tell Me" under the name of MIKA - INTERSECTION.[13]
  • On December 22, the first secret event "Christmas "Meet & Greet" #1" was held.[14]
  • On December 28, Kazuma released his second solo single "To You (feat. Carlo Redl)" under the name of Kaz - INTERSECTION.[15]

2019

  • On January 12, the group appeared as the opening act of "SDGs Promotion TGC Shizuoka 2019 by TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION".[16]
  • On January 25, the fourth single "Twisted" was released on digital platforms.[17]
  • On January 30, INTERSECTION was selected for "Artists to Watch" announced by YouTube, which introduces 10 notable artists who are expected to make a break in 2019.[18]
