Ichiyanagi Toshi (一柳慧) was an avant-garde composer and pianist, and one of the leading Japanese composers during Japan's post-war era.
He married Yoko Ono in 1956 while he was studying in New York, but divorced when Ichiyanagi decided to return to Japan in 1962. He has since chose to remain single for the rest of his life.
On October 7, 2022, he passed away due to undisclosed reasons at the age of 89.[1]
