JP THE WAVY (formerly known as Lil Right) is a Japanese Hip-Hop artist and professional dancer.
History[]
- He used to listen to Western music from a young age and started playing drums in elementary school. When he saw a friend from his school dancing, he thought it was cool, so he started dancing too.[1]
- As a dancer, he appeared in club showcases and participated in a lot of contests. After leaving school, he worked as a back-up dancer and appeared in music videos.[1]
- He started rapping and formed the Hip-hop crew "Do The Right Inc" at the age of 18. The crew was originally formed by members who gathered at the dance recitals of the boss, Carlos.[1]
- He changed his name from Lil Right to JP THE WAVY in 2016.
- "JP" means Japan while "Wavy" is a Western slang meaning cool, unique and fresh. So "JP THE WAVY" means "cool guy in Japan".[1]
- He is in a relationship with Japanese-Irish model Niina.
