KANA-BOON (カナブーン) is a two-member Japanese rock band from Osaka formed as a quartet in 2008. The band signed to Ki/oon Music in 2013 and are best known for performing the opening theme songs of the anime Naruto: Shippuuden (2007) in 2014 and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (2017). They are also known for performing the opening theme song for the anime Subete ga F ni Naru: THE PERFECT INSIDER (2015) and the 2nd opening theme song for Season 2 of Fire Force (2020). Recently they are known for the the opening theme song of the anime My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 (2023) featuring Kitazawa Yuuho of The peggies and the opening theme song for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (2023).
In June 2019, the band announced that bassist Meshida Yuuma would go on a hiatus to deal with mental health issues after being absent without contact for over a week prior.[1] He left the band in November 2019, after considering it to be the best choice for the band after attempting treatment for mental healh issues.[2]
On October 20, 2022, the band's official website announced vocalist & guitarist Taniguchi Maguro was going on hiatus due to poor physical health.[3] He returned to activities in late March 2021.[4]
On December 11, 2023, the band announced they will halt their activities for the rest of the year. The announcement also stated that drummer Koizumi Takahiro and guitarist Koga Hayato will leave the group, after their agency terminated their contracts. The band canceled all their appearances and performances for the rest of the year.[5]
