Kai Chiemi (甲斐智枝美) was a Japanese idol singer, actress and swimsuit model.

Chiemi first got her start in 1979, after winning on Star Tanjou!
After ending her singing career, she decided to focus on acting and modeling, she later retired completely in 1990.

She passed away on July 10, 2006, at the age of 46.

On the evening of July 10, 2006, she was pronounced dead after her son found her hanged in her bedroom. A likely motive for her suicide is that her physical health had been deteriorating, and she was having heart problems.
