Kalafina was a japanese vocal group organized by Kajiura Yuki. The group was originally formed to perform theme songs for the animated movie series Kara no Kyoukai -the Garden of sinners-. Since then, the group continued to release songs until they disbanded.

Producer Kajiura left the group in February 2018, but the group would continue. However, in April 2018, singer Keiko also left the group after her contract with the affiliated agency ended.

The remaining two members planned to continue the group. Keiko's last appearance with the group was at the Kalafina 10th Anniversary LIVE 2018 at Nippon Budokan in January of that year. Wakana announced in August 2018 she was starting a solo career starting September 24, 2018.

On March 13, 2019, Spacecraft Produce announced on its official website that the group is disbanding.

On October 2, 2024, the group staff Twitter account announced there would be an anniversary (17th?) concert in January 2025 featuring the trio of Wakana, Hikaru, & Keiko, but composer Kajiura Yuki is not apparently involved.
