Not to be confused with professional pianist Kawai Yuko (河合優子)

Kawai Yuko is a Japanese studio singer and musician, businesswoman, vocal coach, and former singer-songwriter.

She started out in music by winning the Horipro Scout Talent Caravan in the 1970s and made her debut as a solo singer in 1981.

She retired from her singer-songwriter career in 1983, but continued providing vocals for commissioned projects (primarily for anime music) and backup choruses for other artists. By 1987 she had fully dedicated herself to the backside of music production, and also began working as a vocal coach for other artists. She continues work in the production of studio recordings to this day. She is also the founder and president of the investment company RISE-D Co, Ltd, which she founded in 2022 after wanting to expand her career outside of music.
