Kei Unsuku (桂銀淑) is the stage name of Kye Eun-sook (계은숙/ケ・ウンスク), a South Korean-born Enka singer.

Trivia[]

  • Her surname Kye (/) is one of the rarest surnames in South Korea (her home country): currently there are only 6,282 people with the surname Kye (which is also pronounced Gye).
  • She has lived in Japan since the 1980s (she started her musical career in Japan in 1984 and established her residency there in 1985).
  • Her stage name in Japan, Kei Unsuku is an adaptation of her real name, Kye Eun-sook (Kei = Kye and Unsuku = Eun-sook).
  • Before being a famous and popular enka singer (in Japan) and trot singer (in South Korea), she worked as a model for two years (1977-1979), before debuting as a singer in 1979.
  • She is known for her unique, husky voice.
