Kinashi Noritake is a Japanese comedian, actor, painter, singer, record producer, and member of the comedy group and former J-pop group Tunnels.
History[]
His parents owned a bicycle shop, and he initially planned to pursue a sales career after high school. However, after meeting his future comedy partner Ishibashi Takaaki in another athletic club, they began doing standup for fun and won the Owarai Star Tanjou! contest in 1980, launching their careers as Tunnels. He then decided to focus on comedy full-time, debuting as a singer in 1981 and major label debuting in 1984.
Kinashi stopped making music as Tunnels in the mid-1990s and formed the group Yaen, which disbanded in 2001. Unlike Ishibashi, he remains active as a singer, contributing to various songs and albums over the years and being part of the band Ajisai from 2004 to 2006. In 2019, Kinashi launched his own record label, Kinashi Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Japan, and made his solo debut that same year, also writing music for other musical acts like Cutie☆MoriMori.
