LiSA is a Japanese singer-songwriter.
History[]
She was born in Gifu. Around 2009, she was chosen to be the singing voice of Yui, the second vocalist of the fictional band Girls Dead Monster (a.k.a. GalDeMo) which was featured in the spring 2010 television anime Angel Beats! GalDeMo sold over 400,000 cumulative singles and albums, and the songs LiSA sang vocals on received an especially positive reception from fans. As a result of her success in GalDeMo, she made her solo debut in the spring 2011 with the mini-album "Letters to U". Her passionate performances, singing ability, and live shows centered on positive messages quickly gained popularity, and she established herself as a live artist not only in the anisong scene but also at numerous rock festivals.
After that, she began providing vocals for many opening and ending songs for many popular anime franchises such as Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, The Irregular at Magic High School, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, many of which became hits not only in Japan but around the world. Her 2019 song "Gurenge" swept numerous daily charts immediately after its release, achieved 38 crowns on the daily charts, and topped the weekly digital single chart for "Last of the Heisei Era and the First of 2021". At the end of the same year, LiSA made her first appearance on NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen.
On January 22, 2020, she announced her marriage to voice actor Suzuki Tatsuhisa. On August 4, 2021, she announced a short hiatus from the entertainment industry after her husband’s cheating scandal and later resumed activities on August 28, 2021.[1][2] On April 25, 2023, she announced the birth of her first child.[3]
