Liella! (リエラ) is an eleven-member idol group from Love Live! Superstar!!. Originally five, they debuted on April 7, 2021, with the single "Hajimari wa Kimi no Sora".
Background[]
Their group name is an amalgamation of the French verb lier (to link), referencing the first kanji in Yuigaoka (結) and the Spanish, Italian, or French adjective brillante (shining).[1] The words lier and brilliante also have the meaning of "bond" and "shine" in English.[2]

- Following the release of Love Live! Days Volume 27, four new members added to the group.
- They consist of Suzuhara Nozomi as Sakurakoji Kinako, Yabushima Akane as Yoneme Mei, Okuma Wakana as Wakana Shiki, and Emori Aya as Onitsuka Natsumi
- They were officially announced on May 12, 2022.
- Following the release of Love Live! Days Volume 39, two more new members added to the group, bringing the total to eleven members.
- Yuina, who is the cast of Wien Margarete, joined in.
- The cast of the one remaining member, Onitsuka Tomari, was initially unrevealed.[3]
- On June 11, 2023, through the live broadcast "Love Live! Superstar!! Liella! Live Broadcast: Welcome Third Generation! Welcome to Yuigaoka!! ～Live Broadcast of 11 Members～", it was announced that the cast of Onitsuka Tomari, who was selected through a public audition, is Sakakura Sakura.
- They also revealed the group name of the previously announced three sub-units, chosen through voting by fans.[3] Sayuri, Naomi, and Akane belong to the unit "CatChu!" (submitted by Kuroneko), Liyuu, Nagisa, and Yuina belong to the unit "KALEIDOSCORE" (submitted by Mochineko), and Nako, Nozomi, Wakana, Aya, and Sakura belong to the unit "5yncri5e!" (submitted by Namakemonozu).[4]
