Moonlight Densetsu/HEART MOVING is a single by DALI & Takamatsu Misae.

Information[]

Moon Light Desetsu[]

  • Lyrics: Oda Kanako
  • Composition: Komoro Tetsuya
  • Arrangement: Ikeda Daisuke
  • This song was used as the opening for the first two seasons of the anime, Sailor Moon
  • The melody of this song is based off of the original version of KEY WEST CLUB's final single Yume wa MAJOLICA SENORITA. Although the single version came out months later, KEY WEST CLUB's version was actually performed live before DALI's, thus making DALI's a cover with different lyrics. However, when KEY WEST CLUB released the song as an official single, the melody line was completely changed with an entirely different arrangement, likely due to copyright issues. The only remaining element of the song faithful to the original version were the lyrics.

HEART MOVING[]

  • Lyrics: Tsushima Yoshiaki
  • Composition and arrangement: Sato Kazuo

Tracklist[]

  1. Moonlight Densetsu (ムーンライト伝説; Moonlight Legend) (DALI)
  2. HEART MOVING (Takamatsu Misae)
  3. Moonlight Densetsu (Karaoke)

Trivia[]

  • The original composer of the A-Side song was debated for almost 30 years after its release due to its somewhat chaotic back story, as "Komoro Tetsuya" was a pen name that was never used again. For many years it was thought to be Kawashima Daria, who also wrote and composed the song the A-side was altered from, Yume wa MAJOLICA SENORITA. However, in 2016, Kawashima herself denied writing the melody to Moonlight Densetsu. She only wrote the re-written melody for the eventual single release of Yume wa MAJOLICA SENORITA. In 2021, studio musician Nagato Daikou (長戸大幸), who was part of the sound production staff for the song, confirmed the identity of the writer of the melody line as Yoshie Kazuo (吉江一男), the president of the commercial music production office Mr. Music. However, Yoshie has yet to confirm he is the composer of the song, so it is is still technically unknown.
