Oguro Maki (大黒摩季) is a rock singer-songwriter.

She passed an audition for being in 1989 and began providing backup vocals for other artists. She also passed auditions for Sony Records and Victor Entertainment, but chose being instead. Having not been able to make her solo debut within a couple years, she quit the company and began living in the United States, but returned to Japan when she received a call from being's president promising that she would be able to debut soon.

She debuted in May 1992 with STOP MOTION. Though it did not sell well, her second single, DA・KA・RA, was a massive hit and launched her career as a popular singer.

On November 11, 2003, she married a non-celebrity man.

On August 24, 2010, she announced that she would be going on hiatus beginning in October to focus on treatment for uterine adenomyosis, as well as an ovarian cyst, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids.

She participated as a featured artist in singles for TUBE and Go Hiromi during her hiatus. She did work as a songwriter for other artists beginning in 2015, often using the pen name Maquita Grande Negro.

She announced a full return to singing on June 20, 2016.

On December 20, 2019, she revealed that she had divorced in April of the same year.
