Ohno Satoshi (大野智) is a former Japanese singer, actor, talent, and artist. He is the former leader and main vocalist of the group ARASHI. He belongs to SMILE-UP talent agency. After the suspension of ARASHI's activities on December 31, 2020, he ceased all of his activities in the entertainment industry.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Ohno Satoshi was born on November 26, 1980, in the city of Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan.

He belonged to the badminton club in his junior high school.[1] He has been retired twice because of too much practice, but has returned at the time of the match because of the club can't win without him.

Career[]

1994-1999: Pre-debut[]

In 1994, Satoshi joined the Johnny's & Associates.[2] It was his mother who recommended him to join Johnny's agency. At first, he wasn't very interested in the entertainment world, but found the enjoyment of dancing as he works for Johnny's. He got his first job at TOKIO's Budokan concert on November 2, 1994.[3]

On December 6, 1995, he made his CD debut with "Zero-Ten Champion" (0点チャンピオン) as a member of "Junichi&JJr."[4]

On August 7, 1997, to December 10, 1998, and April 18, 1998, to November 29, he performed on stage at Johnny's Fantasy KYO TO KYO[5] and stayed in Kyoto.

In March 1999, he formed "Musical Academy" and withdrew in September of the same year.

1999-2020: ARASHI[]

On November 3, 1999, Ohno Satoshi made his debut as a member of ARASHI.[6]

On November 16 to January 13, 2013, he was in charge of choreography for ARASHI's concert ARASHI LIVE TOUR Popcorn.[7]

On January 27, 2019, at ARASHI's official fan site, he announced that he would suspend his entertainment activities from 2021 at the same time as ARASHI's activities suspension at the end of 2020.[8]

2009-2020: Solo activities[]

On March 4, 2009, he released his solo song "Kumorinochi, Kaisei" (曇りのち、快晴) under the name of "Yano Kenta starring Ohno Satoshi" on both A-sides of ARASHI's 25th single "Believe/Kumorinochi, Kaisei".

On July 7, 2010, he released a solo cover single "Yukai Tsukai Kaibutsu-kun" (ユカイツーカイ怪物くん) under the name of "Kaibutsu-kun". The song was shown at the "NHK Red and White Song Battle" at the end of the year.

On September 9 to November 8, 2020, he held the FREESTYLE 2020 Ohno Satoshi Exhibition at Roppongi Hills Observatory Tokyo City View.[9]

On December 11, 2020, he streamed the "Go Around with Satoshi: FREESTYLE 2020 SATOSHI OHNO EXHIBITION at Tokyo City View".[10]
