Omura Masaaki was a Japanese composer, arranger, and keyboardist.
He was well known for composing and arranging many hit songs in the 1970s and 1980s, particularly for idols. He is also notable for his extremely fast rise to fame, as his very first arrangement work he created at just 27 years old became a smash hit.
He passed away on June 29th, 1997 from complications of respiratory failure.

- He was close with many celebrities and studio musicians. He was especially close with his frequent musical partner Matsuda Seiko, who considered him an older brother like figure. She called him the affectionate nickname "Maa-kun" (まーくん).
