PROTOSTAR is the debut single by JO1. It was released under LAPONE ENTERTAINMENT on March 4, 2020. It features three original tracks, with "INFINITY" serving as the lead track.

Background[]

On December 12, 2019, JO1 announced on their official website that they would release their debut single in the spring of 2020.[1] On January 14, 2020, they announced their debut single, "PROTOSTAR", will be released on March 4, 2020.[2] On January 29, they released the concept trailer for the single.[3] On February 2, they released the animation video for the track "Running".[4] On February 3, they released the music video teaser for the track "INFINITY".[5] On February 5, they released the short version music video and making video for the track "INFINITY".[6] On February 7, they announced that the track "INFINITY" will be featured as the ending theme for the variety show Chihara Junior no Zaou broadcast on Kansai TV.[7] On February 8, they released the short version performance video for the track "La Pa Pa Pam".[8] On February 12, they released the artist photo and cover photo for the single.[9] On the same day, they also released the behind-the-scenes video of the single cover photoshoot.[10] On February 17, they released the music video for the track "INFINITY".[11] On February 19, they released the dance practice video for the track "INFINITY".[12] On February 29, they released the performance version music video for the track "INFINITY".[13] On March 4, JO1 debut single, "PROTOSTAR", was released.[14] On March 7, they released the performance video for the track "La Pa Pa Pam".[15]
