Salyu is a singer. Her stage name is derived from the French word Salut, and was chosen by producer Kobayashi Takeshi. She debuted as the vocalist for Lily Chou-Chou, a project created for the movie Lily Chou-Chou no Subete, in 2000 and made her solo debut in 2004.
