The Red Light is the 38th single by KinKi Kids. Released by Johnny's Entertainment on July 12, 2017.
The third single of the 20th anniversary year. Like the previous work, it was released in three formats, limited edition A/B and regular edition, and a clear file was distributed for each format as a first-come-first-served bonus. Limited edition A/B includes a DVD, with the limited edition A DVD containing the music video and making of "The Red Light", and limited edition B DVD containing an interview with KinKi Kids and rehearsal footage before the show of "MTV Unplugged: KinKi Kids" held on May 31, 2017. In addition, the regular edition was sold at the merchandise counter at the event "KinKi Kids Party! ~Thank you 20 years~" held at Yokohama Stadium on July 15th and 16th, 2017, with an alternate jacket version with a changed jacket photo as the "Yokohama Stadium limited jacket".
Toshinobu Kubota composed the coupling track "Funky Party" on the single "EIEN NO BLOODS" released on 2003, and this will be his first collaboration with KinKi Kids in about 14 years.
In addition, the DVD and Blu-ray of KinKi Kids' concert "We are KinKi Kids Dome Concert 2016-2017 TSUYOSHI & YOU & KOICHI," which they held on New Year's Day 2017, was released at the same time.
