Unlucky Morpheus is a Japanese metal band formed in 2008.

They described their genre of music as "Technical Melodic Speed Metal".

History

  • They were originally an anison cover band. Later, they expanded their activities to include doujin music of Touhou Project, and in recent years, their own original songs.
  • The band started with Shiren and Tenge Fuyuki in 2008, and as they performed more and more shows, more members joined.[1]
  • For the band name, the nickname "ankimo" was decided first, and the full name "Unlucky Morpheus" was chosen because it sounds like the nickname.[2]
  • In December 2020, a sub-unit called QUADRATUM was announced, featuring Jinya, Jill, FUMIYA and Ogawa Hiroyuki. The unit will be making instrumental covers, and will release its first album Loud Playing Workshop on January 27, 2021.
