Yamakawa Etsuko (山川恵津子) is a Japanese composer, arranger, keyboardist, and former singer.
When she was in her second year of high school, she entered the annual Yamaha Popular Song Contest, but did not win. However, it scored her a part-time job working at the Yamaha Music Foundation where she was discovered. After that, she played keyboard for several small bands until she made her debut as a composer in 1980.
In 1981, she formed a unit with fellow musical producer Narumi Hiroshi called Tohoku Shinkansen. After the breakup, she became a full time composer and arranger.
