Yuki Susumu (結城貢) was a Chinese-Japanese chef and television personality.
He retired from entertainment in 2000. He passed away on April 24th, 2022 from complications of colorectal cancer.
History[]
After moving to Japan as a child, he became interested in becoming a chef as an adult. He then opened a members only restaurant in Harajuku, which many Fuji Television executives and television staff frequented. As a result he was asked to be on their shows as parts of various comedy sketches, and he agreed to appear. He became very popular on All Night Fuji for his snappy remarks during cooking segments featuring All Nighters, his drastically different kind and humble treatment of male guest stars, and his unique speaking voice. He made his solo debut in 1985, but did not release any music afterwards. After All Night Fuji was cancelled in 1991, he moved onto the new cooking show Yuushoku Banzai and stayed with that program until its conclusion in 2000, retiring from entertainment at the same time. After retirement, he opened a coffee shop with his wife, where he worked until the time of his death in 2022.
