ZILLION is a mixed-gender dance and vocal group formed through the second season of Sony Music's "ONE in a Billion" audition (for which Shimizu Shota served as the chairman of the judging panel) in 2021 from a total of over 5,000 applicants.[1][2]
With "diversity" as their keyword, they are a group with completely different in terms of gender, character, specialty and background. They embody a new way of being a dance and vocal group where everyone has an outstanding character, and "all are the protagonists". The group's name was chosen to express the hope that the members, who were chosen as one in a billion talents (ONE in a Billion), will spread their wings with endless possibilities (ZILLION) and scale as a group leading generation Z.[2]
On December 22, 2021, they made their pre-debut with the digital single "Timeless".[1]
On January 15, 2024, it was announced that the group would disband at the end of March, and that a final live performance would be held at WWW X in Tokyo on February 28, 2024.[3]
