ZOC (briefly known as METAMUSE) is currently a two-member Japanese idol group originally formed with seven members in September 2018. They are produced by Oomori Seiko.

The group changed their name to METAMUSE from ZOC on July 7, 2022.

The group reverted their name change on November 11, 2023.[1]

The group ended their current system on March 31, 2024, following the departure of 4 members, and will return with a new lineup sometime in the future.

History[]

2020[]

On July 15, it was announced that they would be suspending activities in preparation for a period of reflection.[2]

On August 25, it was announced that ZOC would be restarting activities on August 30, 2020, with an online performance of @JAM. The new system with management had not been fully decided yet.[3]

On October 1, it was announced that they would be have their major debut under avex trax.[4]

2021[]

In January, it was announced that ZOC will be having auditions to recruit new members. On May 13, 2021, the audition winner was officially revealed.[5]

On September 25, it was announced Oomori would produce a second group MAPA, which she called ZOC's sister group.

On October 25, it was announced Aizome, Nishii, Kannagi, and Shizume would start live activities as zoc, while Yachia and Oomori would stay in ZOC. Oomori explains their reasons for staying in ZOC "Our intention of 'I want to be an idol,' is a completely different intention. In order to expand the charm of the world that we create, we have created ZOC, and participate as its members". In the same announcement, they revealed Oomori is thinking about adding more members for zoc, and her decision/members would be announced on December 17.[6]

On December 17, it was announced that Kirano Jonah would join both ZOC and zoc, debuting in their tour ZOC RPG Tour 2022.[7][8]

2022[]

On April 20, it was announced that ZOC would be changing their group name to "METAMUSE" on July 7 following the final performance of "ZOC RPG TOUR 2022".[9]

On May 28, it was announced that Kirano Jonah would withdraw from the group due to power harassment from Oomori Seiko.[10]

2023[]

On September 11, it was announced that METAMUSE would revert their name change and add a new member on November 11.[1]

2024[]

On March 7, it was announced that members Nishii Marina, Kannagi Maro, and Shizume Nodoka would graduate and the group will end activities under their current system on March 31, 2024. The group will return in the future with a new lineup.[11]

On March 31, it was announced that Yachia Riko would leave the group.[12]

On August 5, it was announced Aizome Karen would graduate on November 4.[13]
